Work experience opportunity - Run in the Dark

Run in the Dark is a mass participation running event taking place around Ireland on Wednesday 13th November. The flagship event in Dublin has 9,000 participants, closes 10km of city centre streets, and has 300 volunteers and 15-20 professional staff.

Run in the Dark is the principal fundraiser of the Mark Pollock Trust and fuels Mark Pollock’s personal mission to cure paralysis in our lifetime. To find out more about Mark’s story, see go.ted.com/markandsimone


The volunteer shift options are as follows:

  • Sunday 10th November 10 am-5 pm
  • Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th November 7am-10am; and 4pm-7pm
  • Wednesday 13th November 6 pm-10 pm.


We’re recruiting for the following roles:

  • Managing run pack collection (Sunday – Tuesday)
  • Finish line – water & medal distribution (Wednesday)
  • Marshal on-course (Wednesday)
  • Bag drop supervisor (Wednesday)
